In this article "Food For Thought", it tells us that we can know foreign cultures by eating their food. These national food tells the nation's internal interaction and how it wants to be seen from the outside. The indicator of historical relationships is those countires' cheap food; this reflects the deep history with the countries that produce the cheap food for them.
For me, I'm not really sure about this because I don't know a lot of history. But I think food tells me about how old of this country and its culture.
